Our Story

When I was born, my father had race birds and we always had them around. He raced in the 60's, and then he had seven children and could not afford the birds. So I had them around as pets for years. Years later I moved to Alberta, Mom and Dad moved to Lindsay. Later I moved back home to Lindsay with Mom and Dad. At that time Dad was driving back and forth to work every day with a pigeon flyer named Joe Leith. Dad wanted me to start flying pigeons, so Dad took me to meet Joe and see Joe's birds. We spent hours looking at the pedigrees and the birds, going over methods and Joe's results and his theories. At that time Dad and I became Stichelbaut men, we fell in love with them. We soon after had a stock loft full of all Joe's best families, almost all related to the bird on the front of the 1980 year book CU-78-P-3.

We spent the next 20 years bringing in Stichelbauts from all over the world. We found a loft in Toronto that had a super family of Stichelbauts that came from the same loft Joe Leith purchased his main family from. So Dad purchased the entire loft of birds. These two families blended together became gold. Since then we have been purchasing and trying Stichelbaut families, many of which did not made the cut. We only tried the pure Stichelbauts, if we wanted crosses we could make them ourselves. These birds have won for us at every level of competition, club, and combine, and one loft competition in both North America and in Europe. They also have helped others put their lofts on the map. We have families of the original Stichelbauts, pure as you can get, and, we also have other families that are Stichelbaut based from the best.
